VDM narrates how FCT Police helped mentally unstable woman deliver

Talking about what happened on his Instagram, VeryDarkMan said “it happened in the early hours of April 3, 2026, during regular patrol by officers from the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, who were working across the FCT because of increased security worries before the Easter celebrations.”

He said, “at about 12:20 a.m., the officers who were on patrol around Kwaita village in Kwali Area Council suddenly heard loud cries coming from the roadside.”

The officers quickly went towards where the cries were coming from and found a woman with mental health problems who had just gone into labour.

Confirming what happened, the FCT Police Command said the officers got information about the woman at about 12:30 a.m., which led to quick action from the command.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit at Kwali Division quickly got her team together and went to the location after getting the report.

The officers helped the woman and made sure she safely delivered the baby.

Responding to what happened, VeryDarkMan praised the officers for their kindness and promised to pay for the child’s education from primary school through university.
