Bendel Insurance head coach Charles Omokaro has stressed the importance of avoiding defeat in their upcoming clash against Wikki Tourists as they continue their push for a continental spot.

The Benin Arsenals are set to face Wikki Tourists in a matchday 35 fixture in Bauchi this weekend, with their sights firmly set on securing a place among the league’s top three.

Currently sitting seventh on the table with 49 points, Bendel Insurance remain in contention for a continental ticket.

Speaking ahead of the game, Omokaro emphasized the significance of the encounter, noting that his side will be targeting maximum points, or at the very least, a draw.

“That game against Wikki Tourists means a lot for us. We are going there with the target of winning the game to collect the three points or, at worst, a point to ensure we achieve our objective of finishing among the top three,” he told Complete Sports.

It will be recalled that Bendel Insurance last featured on the continent during the 2023–24 season after qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup.
