The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai, died last night.

Ankwai, who represented Zuru Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), was elected Speaker when the 10th Assembly started on 8 June 2023.

His death has led to many messages of sympathy from other lawmakers, political colleagues, and people across Kebbi State. Many have said he was a committed public servant who helped with legislative development in the state.
