World Cup 2026: Neymar ‘On the Right Path’, Says Brazil Coach Ancelotti

Ancelotti Backs Neymar to Prove Fitness Ahead of 2026 World Cup

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence in Neymar Jr.’s chances of making the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, insisting the forward is on the right path to full recovery.

XCLUSIVELAND reports that Ancelotti addressed growing speculation surrounding Neymar’s place in the national team, making it clear that fitness will be the key factor in his final decision.

The former Real Madrid manager emphasized that only players in peak physical condition will be considered for selection, regardless of their status or reputation.

“He has two months to show he still has the qualities to play in the next World Cup,” Ancelotti said.

“I believe he can return to 100%. I’ve said it before, and I’ll be clear: only physically ready players will get my call-up.”

Neymar, who recently returned from a serious knee injury, has shown encouraging signs of improvement with his performances for Santos. The Brazilian forward has been finding the back of the net and gradually regaining match sharpness.

Ancelotti acknowledged the progress but stressed the importance of consistency and continued development.

“After his knee injury, Neymar has made a good comeback; he is scoring goals. He needs to continue in this direction and improve his fitness. He’s on the right track,” he added.

Despite recent injury setbacks, Neymar remains a key figure in Brazil’s football history. The forward is currently the country’s all-time leading scorer, with 79 goals and 59 assists in 128 appearances for the senior national team.

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, all eyes will be on Neymar as he works to prove his fitness and secure a place in Ancelotti’s squad.
